Tech Tax Helper Privacy Policy

Tech Tax Helper is provided by WalkTeaming LLC (“WalkTeaming,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how the Tech Tax Helper app for Android and iPhone handles information.
The short version
Tech Tax Helper is designed so your work and tax records remain under your control. The app does not contain advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. We do not operate a server that receives your income, expenses, mileage, receipts, tax-payment records, or Google Drive files.
Information you enter
The app lets you enter company names, payment amounts and dates, work purchases, categories, notes, receipt photos, odometer readings, mileage details, odometer photos, estimated-tax payment details, confirmation numbers, screenshots, your filing state, your tax-savings percentage, and export files you choose to create.
These records are stored locally on your device in the app’s private storage unless you choose to connect Google or share an export.
Google Drive and Google Sheets
If you connect your Google account, the app requests the Google Drive drive.file permission. This allows Tech Tax Helper to create, view, edit, and delete only the specific Google Drive files used with the app. It does not allow the app to browse or access unrelated files in your Google Drive.
The app creates a yearly Google Sheet and may upload receipt, pay-statement, odometer, and tax-payment images to a folder in your Google Drive. Those files are stored by Google under your Google account and are governed by Google’s privacy policy and terms. WalkTeaming LLC does not receive a copy of those files.
Google API information is used only to provide the user-facing backup, spreadsheet, and export features described above. Tech Tax Helper’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Information we do not collect
Tech Tax Helper does not collect or sell precise or approximate location, contacts, advertising identifiers, browsing history, bank credentials or transactions, passwords, diagnostic analytics, or data for advertising or profiling. The app does not automatically track trips or use background location.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Tech Tax Helper schedules local reminders on your device for monthly odometer readings and estimated-tax deadlines. Notification data is not sent to WalkTeaming LLC.
External websites
The app can open official IRS and state tax-agency websites and WalkTeaming’s website in your browser. Information you provide on those external websites is handled by their operators, not by Tech Tax Helper. The app does not submit tax payments for you.
Sharing and exports
The app shares information only when you direct it to, such as when you open a Google Sheet, save an export, or share a tax-professional package. You are responsible for choosing a trusted destination and recipient.
Data retention and deletion
Local records remain on your device until you remove them, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app. Google Sheets and Drive files remain in your Google account until you delete them. You can revoke Tech Tax Helper’s Google access from your Google Account permissions at any time. Revoking access does not automatically delete files already created in your Drive.
Because WalkTeaming LLC does not maintain user accounts or receive your work records on its servers, we generally cannot retrieve or delete records stored on your device or in your Google account for you.
Security
We use the app’s private storage on your phone (on iPhone it is also left out of iCloud backups), encrypted HTTPS connections to Google APIs, and Google’s narrowly scoped authorization system. No method of electronic storage is guaranteed to be completely secure, so keep your device and Google account protected.
Children
Tech Tax Helper is intended for working adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The current version and effective date will be posted on this page.
